This standard system is used on even slopes with adequate soil depths. Waste water flows from the septic tank through solid piping into one or more distribution boxes. The wastewater then flows into a bed filled with gravel of varying widths through perforated piping. It is then filtered by the gravel and further treated through soil absorption.
