This is an absorption system that is elevated above the natural soil surface of your property and consists of a septic tank, pump tank with alarm, suitable fill materials (usually gravel and sand) ,a constructed absorption area with a pipe distribution network, and topsoil.
After initial treatment in the septic tank, wastewater is pumped to the absorption area, passing through the soil/fill material into the natural soil beneath.
The mound system offers low maintenance, space efficiency, and usefulness in areas with high ground water, clay near the soils surface, or heavy bedrock.
